Meet the Maker: Andrew Hilliard of Beau Joubert

beau-joubert_smallThis Tuesday Tasting we have a special line up from South African Vineyard Beau Joubert, a 17th century farm in the Stellenbosch Wine Region. Meet the Managing Director of the vineyard, Andrew Hilliard, who will be at Firehouse from 5:30-7:30 discussing the details that go into making some of the best old-vine wines from the region. Featured wines include:

  • Oak Lane Chenin/Sauvignon Blanc—A blended white that balances guava and other
    tropical fruits with citrus and tangy green pepper. $12 btl, $6 btg
  • Beau Joubert Old Vine Chenin Blanc—Hands down, one of the most elegant chenin blancs around, this soft, creamy, white combines both zesty citrus flavor with a touch of vanilla, oak and fig. $17 btl, $7 btg
  • Oak Lane Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon— This juicy red combines ripe plums and black berry flavors with a touch of white pepper and light smoke to make a soft, easy drinking red. $12 btl, $6 btg
  • Beau Joubert Ambassador—This red blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and shiraz results in a complex wine tasting of dark berries, stewed fruits, spice, mocha and cigars with a long, elegant finish. $22 btl, $8 btg
