Trying to please all people at the table this Thanksgiving? This Tuesday Tasting (Nov 7) we test out some crowd-pleasing red and white blends that hit all the right notes. Featuring:
- Marcella’s Rhone Blend, California – From Fess Parker Vineyards, this Central Coast blend of Viognier, Roussane, Marsanne and Grenache Blanc tastes of white peach, nectarine, and mandarin orange with a touch of honeysuckle, toasted oak and citrus on the finish. $18 btl, $9 btg
- Palacios Petalos, Spain—This critically acclaimed wine (Robert Parker: 93, James Suckling: 92, Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines) from Bierzo in Northern Spain is made from the regional grape Mencia and strikes the perfect balance of sun-filled Spanish flavors with the subtle elegance of a Rhone red: wild strawberries, black pepper and dark greens are balanced by a minerality, soft tannins and a long, silky finish. $18 btl, $9 btg
- Millbrandt Brother’s Blend, Washington – This Columbia Valley red is a blend of 7 different grapes (Cab, Syrah, Merlot, Malbec, Grenache, Tempranillo and Barbera) aged 16 months in oak to create a rich mocha and black cherry red with touches of spice and earth on the finish.$15 btl, $8 btg
