Fabulous Fringe Grapes: White Wine Edition

whitewine1This Tuesday Tasting (Apr 16) we try 3 out-of-the-box varietals that make for great spring sipping! Featuring:

  • Gainta Txakolina, Spain — Don’t worry we won’t ask you to pronounce it! But we hope you’ll love this  slightly effervescent white made from local grapes of the Basque region (Hondarrabi and Gros Manseng) tasting of crisp green apples and pears, with a hint of citrus and river stone on the finish. $17 btl, $8 btg
  • Cune Monopole Blanco Rioja, Spain – This White Rioja made from 100% Viura grapes is hand harvested at optimum ripeness to showcase the seductive floral notes and fresh tropical fruit flavours of the grape making for a great warm-weather white. $15 btl, $7 btg
  • La Yunta Torrontes, Argentina – Made from Argentina’s only indigenous grape (and most popular white wine),  winemakers from a local cooperative blend grapes from 3 different harvests to create a ripe, herbaceous Torrontes with a clean minerality that is an elegant example of this unique grape. $14 btl, $6 btg

Tasting: $11
