This Tuesday Tasting (Nov 26) we try three tasty Rhone blends perfect for pairing with holiday meals or savoring on their own. Featuring:
- Guigal CDR Blanc, France – This unique white blend of 6 local grapes (Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc and Grenache Blanc) from Rhone’s most famous white wine producer almost defies description: soft floral notes open into rich spicy flavours combined with fleshy peach and apricot notes. $18 btl, $8 btl
- Hahn GSM, California – This boutique family vineyard from Santa Lucia shows the world that Cali can do Rhone too: Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre are beautifully balanced to create flavours of raspberry, strawberry and blueberry with hints of black pepper and earth. $15 btl, $7 btg
- Kermit Lynch CDR Rouge, France – This elegant, hand-harvested blend (GSM, Carignan and Cinsault) is unfined and unfiltered then aged with natural yeast to let the flavours of the fruit shine through: rich, juicy aromas of ripe black cherry, black berries and plum combine with spicy flavors of licorice and wild herbs ending in a slightly tannic finish. $15 btl, $7 btg
Tasting: $12
And if you haven’t been in for a Tuesday Tasting in a while, we are now serving artisanal flat breads to complement each tasting. This week? Beef Burgundy and Chicken Marsala
