Ciao Italia!

ciaoitaliaTues-Thurs Tasting
Sept 22-Sept 24

This week (weather permitting!) we will be pouring three unique and tasty wines from Italy. Featuring:

  • Poggio Anima Pecorino, Abruzzo – Organically grown less than a mile from the Adriatic Sea, this bright, bold white made from 100% Pecorino (the grape, not the cheese, though the two make a good pairing) combines notes of apricot, peach and melon with a hint of lemongrass and sea salt on the finish. $16 btl, $7 btg
  • Peramo Sparkling Rose, Veneto – This extra dry sparkling made from the red Raboso grape is made in the charmat method (secondary tank fermentation)  to create a beautiful bubbly (both inside and out!) tasting of dried cranberries, pear and apricot with a touch of roasted nuts and spice on the finish. $24 btl, $9 btg
  • Ricossa Barbera Apassimento, Piedmont – This is the first official Barbera from Piedmont made in the appassimento method (drying grapes before pressing) and the results are incredibly elegant! Rich aromas of blackberry, plum and prunes combine with floral notes and a touch of vanilla and mocha in a silky yet structured Barbera. $22 btl, $9 btg

Paired with: Portabella & Shrimp Flatbread with Creamy Garlic Sauce

Tasting: $14
