Southern Hemisphere Sauvignon Blancs

SouthernHemisphereSavsThis Tuesday Tasting we take you on a tour of Southern Hemisphere sauvignon blancs with three very different versions of this popular grape. Featuring:

  • Dandelion Vineyards “Wishing Clock”, Australia—A surprisingly smooth wine from Adelaide Hills, this award-winning white is the softest and fruitiest of the three sauvignon blancs.
  • Neil Ellis Groenekloof Sauvignon Blanc, South Africa—Sancerre lovers will be much at home with this white grown on granite and clay land in the western Cape, giving it the distinct greenness and minerality of the famous French wines.
  • Sileni Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand—A surprisingly rich (and low-in-grapefruit flavored) sav out of the Marlborough region, lightly oaked to produce rich tropical flavors and an elegant finish.
