Red Wines with Character

WineHeadAre you the Faithful type or more of a Troublemaker? Or do you just like to kick it Old School? This Tuesday tasting we sample 3 great red blends with unique characters (and names). Featuring:

  • Wine Liberation Society’s “Old School” Red, California – This blend of Syrah and Merlot is aged in French oak to produce a dusty, earthy red with fruity cherry flavors and a soft finish.
  • The Faithful Hound, South Africa – An elegant Bordeaux blend from the Stellenbosch region featuring Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot resulting in a deep dark red tasting of currants, cherry, olive and a hint of pine.
  • The Troublemaker, California — Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Petite Syrah and Zinfandel are blended from several different vintages to create a big, rich red tasting of black cherry, raspberry, and vanilla with a slightly smoky finish.

Pricing: $11

Hi Marti — I’ll be posting on our website and FB page in just a few, but we’ll be doing a Spanish tasting with 3 new wines: Verdejo (a light and crisp white), RAW Rose (lots of fruit and minerality) and a Red Garnacha (trying to decide between 2 options but both nice medium bodied reds with fruit and tannins).
