Tempranillo Time


This Tuesday Tasting we try three spicy Spanish reds made for summer heat. Featuring:

  • Paul & Remy — This elegant tempranillo is grown in Northern Spain tasting of berries, dark plum, spices and a touch of tobacco. $17 btl, $8 btg
  • Torremoron Tinto – This highly ranked old vine Tempranillo (>100 years) from a small town north of Madrid (<100 people), is grown at a high altitude resulting in fresh black and blue berry flavors sharpened by pepper and a touch of anise. $14 btl, $7 btg
  • Barco de Piedra — Another highly ranked wine, this red comes from Ribera del Dueros—home of some of Spain’s most robust reds—and it shows in this fuller-bodied tempranillo tasting of black raspberry, blueberry and hint of smokey meat, balanced by a touch of oak. $15 btl, $7 btg
