Hola Spanish wine lovers! This Tuesday Tasting we try 3 elegant Spanish wines (a bubbly, dry rose and rich red) that will pair with almost anything as holiday eating season rolls around. Featuring:
- Gran Castillo Cava – Hand picked from old 45-year-old vines in Catalan, this is a classic cava made from Macabeo, Parellada, and Xarello in the traditional méthode champenoise and aged for 9 months to create a pale, fine bubbly tasting of rich, buttered croissant, golden apple and a touch of citrus. $12 btl, $6 btg
- Principe de Viana “Edicion Rosa” Rosada — This dry Rosado from sustainably farmed old Garnacha vines is an appealing satin pink, with delicate fruit aromas and flavours of cherries and wild strawberries and a clean minerality on the finish. $21 btl, $8 btg
- Castano Solanera—A full-bodied Spanish red combining Monastrell, Cab, and Garnacha, this wine consistently receives 90+ points from top critics, for good reason: rich and layered, tasting of black raspberries and cherries with a wonderfully spicy balance of cloves and cinnamon. $18 btl, $8 btg
