California Dreaming

While we may not be able to jump on a plane to the West Coast for a while, it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the fruits of their labor. This week we’ll be pouring a flight of three elegant and tasty Cali wines. Featuring:

  • Folktale Chardonnay, Carmel – This beautiful Chard (both inside and out!) is farmed organically, harvested at night to preserve the fresh fruit flavors and lightly aged in neutral oak. The result? Soft melon, apricot and kiwi combine with green tea, chalk and lemon with a touch of baked bread on the finish. $26 btl, $10 btg
  • Folly of the Beast Pinot Noir, Central Coast – This Cali Pinot benefits from a cool coastal climate that results in bright fruit flavors of red cherry and red raspberry with a hint of earth, oak and rich baking spices. $18 btl, $9 btg
  • Napa by N.A.P.A., Napa Valley –  If the name isn’t clear enough, this rich Napa Cab by 5th generation winemakers (Nathalie, Anthony, Paul and Anne Scotto) truly captures the flavors of the region: sun ripened and hand harvested grapes are aged for 2 years in a combination of French & American oak resulting in a lush wine tasting of red and black plums, cherry, smoke and a touch of anise with a long, complex finish. $21 btl, $9 btg

Tasting: $15

Paired with French Onion and Ham Flatbread
