Homemade Sweet and Sour Sauce Recipe

Combine 1 cup of pineapple juice, 1/2 cup of rice vinegar, and 1/2 cup of brown sugar in a saucepan.

 Stir in 1/4 cup of ketchup and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce.

 Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons of water to thicken the sauce.

 Mix in 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic and 1/2 teaspoon of grated ginger.

Optionally, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly.

 Cook for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
