  • Dandelion Lion’s Tooth, Australia—This inky Shiraz from the McLaren Valley includes a surprising mix of Riesling (5%) to temper the dark red and achieve a silky, elegant wine tasting of raspberry and blueberry preserves with a long velvety finish. $20 btl, $8 btg
  • Lion’s Whiskers, South Africa—This red by the makers of Screaming Eagle combines the smoke and pepper of Shiraz with bright cherry and dusty notes from Mourvedre for a full-bodied flavorful blend. $25 btl, $9 btg
  • St Hallett Gamekeeper, Australia—This Rhone red made of Shiraz, Grenache and Touriga (considered one of Portugal’s finest red wine grapes) combines raspberry, pepper and a touch of Turkish delight and floral notes for a complex, layered red. $13 btl, $6 btg
