The Blend Trend: Part II

whiteblendsFollowing up on the fun of our Rowdy Red tasting last week, this Tuesday Tasting we try 3 flavor-filled white wines. Featuring:

  • Cantina Ariano Pietrenere, Italy – Grown along the Mediterranean coast of southern Italy (Puglia), this blend of 2 local grapes (Falanghina & Bombino) is organically grown and fermented in stainless steel to allow the flavors of the grape to shine through: stone fruit, lychee, citrus and a hint of flowers combine in this soft, light white. $15 btl, $7 btg
  • Marcella’s Rhone Blend, California – Another great addition from Fess Parker Vineyards, this Central Coast blend of Viognier, Roussane, Marsanne and Grenache Blanc tastes of white peach, nectarine, and mandarin orange with a touch of honeysuckle, toasted oak and citrus on the finish. $18 btl, $8 btg
  • Murietta’s Well The Whip, California – This big blend of 6 different grapes (Semillion, Chard, Sav Blanc, Orange Muscat, Muscat Canelli, Viognier) from one of California’s original wine estates (est in the late 1800s and now owned by Wente Family) packs a flavorful punch of juicy fruit flavors: white peach, pear and melon combine with vanilla and hazelnut to create a smooth and layered elegant white. $19 btl, $9 btg

Tasting: $12
