Great Greeks

greeceAs Mobile kicks off its annual Greek festival this week, Firehouse celebrates with a tasting of 3 great Greek wines. Opa! Featuring:

  • Sigalas Santorini Assyrtiko-Athiri—Santorini is famous for its dry white wines (and training the vines to grow in unique basket shapes) and this combination of 2 famous grapes from the region (Assyrtiko and Athiri) results in ripe citrus flavours and strong minerality with a hint of sea salt. $21 btl, $8 btg
  • Douloufakis Dafnios Red – This well-ranked organic red from Crete is made from the indigenous grape Liatiko and aged in French oak to create a medium bodied wine layered with flavors of spice, nuts, raisin and a hint of olive and earth. $16 btl, $7 btg
  • Zoe Red Blend – Made in a burgundy style this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Aghiorgitiko creates a dry medium bodied red, tasting of plum and dried herbs. $12 btl, $6 btg
