Wines from the Top of the World: Argentina Edition

mendozaThis Tuesday Tasting (Feb 20) we try three Argentinian wines from Gouguenheim Winery,  a small family-owned vineyard nestled in the foothills of the Andes and one of the highest altitude vineyards in Mendoza. Featuring:

  • Torrontes – Argentina’s most popular white grape makes for a full-bodied, aromatic wine tasting of peach, orange and fresh green herbs (think coriander and dill). $11 btl, $6 btg
  • Malbec – The grape that made Mendoza famous, the bright colors of the fruit shine in this elegant Malbec tasting of ripe red plums and cherries with a touch of violet and mocha. $12 btl, $6 btg
  • Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva – A classic Cab style with rich new world grapes makes for a deep red tasting of black currant and cherry, Asian spices and a touch of French oak. $13 btl, $7 btg
