This Tuesday tasting (Apr 17) we try three fun, flavorful sparklings from around the world. Featuring:
- Cote Mas Cremant de Limoux Brut, France – This delicate, elegant bubbly is made in the traditional methode champenoise (second fermentation in the bottle) and aged for a year to create a creamy white tasting of white peach, sweetened lemon and a touch of honeysuckle. $8 btg, $17 btl
- Bisol Prosecco, Italy – The Bisol family has been cultivating grapes since 1542 in the hillsides of Cartizze, where they specialize in Proseccos as showcased in this award-winning sparkling (WE, 92 pts): wild flower and citrus notes complement flavors of yellow apple, ripe pear and a touch of tangerine and almond on the finish. $7 btg, $15 btl
- Sokol Blosser Evolution Sparkling, Oregon – This bright, flavorful sparkling is made from a variety of grapes (including Semillon, Pinot Gris, Gewurzt and Riesling) to create rich fruit flavors of ripe pear, peach, orange blossom and a hint of vanilla and honey. $7 btg, $15 btl
