Mad for Spanish Wines

spanish-wineThis Tuesday Tasting (May 1) we try 3 elegant Spanish sippers that highlight some of the country’s most popular grapes and and wine-making styles. Featuring:

  • Latue – This bright organic blush made from 100% Tempranillo walks the line between a rosé and light summer red – bursting with red currant flavors, raspberry, and a touch of orange zest with a clean, minerally finish.
  • Montgo Monastrell – New to the region, this “modern” Monastrell blew us away with its elegant style; the grapes are dry farmed to make the flavors more concentrated and you can taste the results in this complex spicy red that balances dark cherry, blackberry and jammy fruit flavors with a dash of black pepper and a touch of French oak.
  • Castano Solanera—This highly acclaimed red blend from Spain combines Monastrell, Cabernet, and Grenache, to create a rich, earthy red tasting of raspberries and cherries with a wonderful complement of cloves and cinnamon on the finish.

Tasting: $12
