Outback Blancs

margaret-river-wineryThis Tuesday Tasting (June 5) we try 3 different – and delicious! – white wines straight from the Australian Outback. Featuring:

  • Yalumba Y Series Viognier, Barossa Valley – This medium-bodied white tastes of peaches, nuts, and honey but is balanced by grapefruit flavors and strong floral and herbal notes to deliver a juicy mouthful with a clean finish. $13 btl, $6 btg
  • Tahbilk Marsanne, Nagambe Lakes, Victoria – This Australian vineyard is famous for cultivating this rare grape (home to both the largest and oldest single holding in the world) to create a big, rich white tasting of pear, lemon, tropical fruit and roasted nuts complemented by the grape’s unique waxy mouth feel. $16 btl, $7 btg
  • Cape Mentelle, Margaret River – This blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc gets amazing critical reviews and for good reason: delicate, fresh and crisp, the citrus and herb flavors of the Sav Blanc are balanced beautifully with soft floral notes and tropical flavors of the Semillion to create a truly elegant, complex white. $17 btl, $8 btg

Tasting: $11
