Let’s be Franc

sommelier-du-jourThis Tuesday Tasting (June 19) we try three fun and flavorful Cabernet Francs from around the world. Featuring:

  • Cabaret Frank, France – This medium-bodied red from Languedoc is blended with just a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon to create an easy drinking wine that strikes a great balance between dark red currants and plum with a hint of earth and herbs on the finish. $12 btl, $6 btg
  • Botalcura Reserva, Chile – This full-bodied, elegant red from one of our favorite Chilean vineyards is hand-picked and lightly oaked to create rich flavours of black cherry, mocha, roasted red pepper and a hint of toasted bread and nuts. $17 btl, $8 btg
  • Cosentino “The Franc” — We’re big fans of this Lodi Winery’s rich reds and “The Franc” is another palate (and pocketbook) pleaser: 100% Cab Franc, this inky wine is filled with lush flavors of blue and blackberries with a hint of green pepper and graphite on the finish. $16 btl, $8 btg

Tasting: $12
