Outback Reds

inkberrytastingThis Tuesday Tasting (August 14) we try three great red wines direct from down under. Featuring:

  • Yard Dog, McLaren Vale – This Aussie-style Bordeaux Blend adds a touch of Petit Verdot to the classic Cab-Merlot mix resulting in powerful cherry and plum flavors balanced by a nice bit of dusty earth and minerality. $14 btl, $7 btg
  • Inkberry Cab- Shiraz, New South Wales – High elevations on this mountain estate lead to small grapes with intense “inky” flavor and color as exemplified in this flavorful red tasting of red and black currant, stewed plums with a touch of white pepper and oak. $15 btl, $7 btg
  • St. Hallett “Faith”, Barossa Valley – This highly ranked wine has been called the “classic Barossa Shiraz” and “a steal for its price”: filled with black fruit flavors and rich red berries, with a touch of leather, anise and a warm, earthy finish. $15 btl, $7 btg

Tasting: $12
