This Tuesday Tasting (Dec 4) we take a trip to the Portuguese and Spanish peninsula for a taste of some delicious red blends. Featuring:
- Colossal Reserva Red, Lisboa, Portugal — This rich, red blend of Portuguese varietals and Syrah is aged in French and American oak to make for a complex, intense red tasting of ripe red plums, boysenberry, mocha, dried herbs and spice. $14 btl, $7 btg
- Cune Crianza, Rioja, Spain – This blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta and Mazuelois is fermented in stainless steel to emphasize rich red fruit flavors and cassis then aged in American oak for more than a year to add touches of vanilla, cocoa and caramel to the finish. $15 btl, $7 btg
- Fitapreta Tinto, Alentejo, Portugal – A modern take on Portuguese varietals from up-and-coming winemaker Antonio Macanita, the grapes are sustainably farmed and gravity fed to let the flavors shine through of fresh berries, cherry compote, minerals, spice and a touch of smoke. $24 btl, $9 btg
