California Dreaming

sunsetwineThis Tuesday Tasting (July 30) we take a tour of the West Coast to experience 3 dreamy sippers that show why the Golden State truly shines when it comes to wine. Featuring:

  • Newton Skyside Chardonnay, Sonoma – As long-time fans of Newton’s Unfiltered Napa Chard, we were thrilled to experience their still elegant (but slightly more affordable!) Sonoma Chard: peach and honeysuckle combine with baked apple and just the slightest hint of oak and wheat in this creamy white that really highlights the fruit flavours of the grape. $21 btl, $8 btg
  • Buoncristiani La Rosita Rosé, Napa Valley – One of the most interesting (and truly delicious) rosés we’ve tried: this Syrah-Malbec blend captures the beautiful fruit flavours (raspberry, black cherry) and colors of the grapes but is aged in neutral French oak for an elegant, toasted almond finish that defies description. $21 btl, $8 btg
  • Peirano Illusion, Lodi – This Lodi vineyard excels at rich, fruit-filled reds and this blend of Zin, Merlot, Petite Sirah & Cab is a beautiful example: opulent flavors of black plum and cherry, boysenberry and black raspberry combine with cocoa and a touch of herbs and anise for a smooth, supple finish. $14 btl, $7 btg

Tasting: $13
