Days may be getting shorter, but that doesn’t mean summer is over! This Tuesday Tasting (Aug 12) we try 3 international roses perfect for sipping all day. Featuring:
- Louis Jadot Rosé, France – This delicate rosé from Burgundy made from 100% Gamay tastes of strawberry, peaches and cream with a slight touch of tangy red currant and clean minerality on the finish. $13 btl, $6 btg
- Gonc Cuvee Anna, Slovenia – Named after the traditional Hungarian barrels made to age wine (“Goncs”) this family produces an elegant summer rose made of Žametna črnina (don’t worry, we won’t ask you to pronounce it!), from one of the oldest living vines in the world (est 375 yrs old); the result is a refreshing summer sipper tasting of melon, strawberry and peach with a hint of citrus zest. $16 btl, $8 btg
- Nortico Rosé, Portugal – Grown on the border of Spain and Portugal this beautiful blush (both inside and out) captures the essence of the region: local grapes (Alvarelhao and Pedral) burst with bright watermelon and red berry flavours and are complemented with nice touch and salinity and minerality from the local soil. $15 btl, $7 btg
