A Taste of Italy

italywinesTues-Thurs Tasting (July 28-30):
A Taste of Italy

This week we try three mouth watering Italian wines that will have your taste buds saying “Mamma Mia!” Featuring:

  • Terredora di Paolo Falanghina, Campania – Grown just south of Rome from a region that was world-famous during the Roman Empire for its wines (Falernian wines), this unique grape has intense aromas of fruit with hints of apple, pineapple, quince and pear combined with soft floral notes, clean minerality and a touch of effervescence on the finish. $19 btl, $8 btg
  • Rilasso Montepulciano, Abruzzo – The epitome of an easy-drinking Italian red: the grapes are grown on high plateaus to maximize sun exposure and aged on the lees then undergo malolactic fermentation to create a ripe, round fruity red tasting of raspberry, red cherry and a hint of dusty earth. $12 btl, $6 btg
  • Visconti della Rocca Montepulciano Reserva, Abruzzo – This aged Montepulciano from central Italy knocked our socks off with its rich flavours of dark blueberries and black plums, earthy notes and mocha, with a long, spicy finish. $15 btl, $7 btg

Tasting: $12

Paired with: Italian Sausage, Mushroom and Pesto Flatbread
