Weekly Wine Flight: Tues, June 22 – Thurs, June 24
This week we try three Mediterranean reds perfect for sipping on these hot summer days. Featuring:
- Duca Di Saragnano Rosso, Tuscany, Italy – Cherry, plum, and a touch of leather combine with pleasant floral notes in this easy-drinking Sangiovese (blended with a small amount of native varietals). $11 btl, $5 btg
- Zoe Red Blend, Greece – Made in a Burgundian style, this blend of 90% native varietal Aghiorghitiko (say it, we dare ya!) and 10% Cab Sav manages to pack a bunch of lovely black fruit flavors (black cherries, plums, and blackberries) with a nice pinch of dried herbs into a medium-bodied, elegant red. $14 btl, $7 btg
- Care Sobre Lias Red, Aragon, Spain – This blend of 50% Garnacha and 50% Syrah is aged in neutral oak for 4 months to create a soft, fruity red with flavors of black berries, black plum and just a hint of earth and spices. $12 btl, $6 btg
