Weekly Wine Flight: Tues, Sept 21 – Thurs, Sept 23
This week we treat ourselves to 3 fabulous new wines from California, including 2 from Selby Winery, which has just started importing to Alabama.
- Selby Sauvignon Blanc, Sonoma, CA – Susie Selby has been making wine for almost 30 years and her wines have been poured by the White House for the past four administrations. One taste of this Sav Blanc, and you’ll see why: rich flavors of melon, minerals and lemon-lime end with a clean, herbal finish in this crisp, bright white. $20 btl, $8 btg
- Selby Chardonnay, Russian River, CA – Another elegant offering, this classic Cali Chard combines ripe notes of tropical fruit, stones fruits (think peach and apricot) with a balanced touch of toasty oak and vanilla cream in a long, silky finish. $30 btl, $10 btg
- Clos LaChance Estate Meritage, Santa Clara, CA – A true representation of a California Meritage, this Bordeaux-style red combines Petit Verdot, Cab Franc, Cab Sav and Merlot to create a rich, inky red filled with notes of dried cherry, blackberry, tea leaf, herbs and a touch of cola. $18 btl, $8 btg
Tasting: $14
