Weekly Wine Flight: Tues, Oct 5 — Thurs, Oct 7

This week we try three tasty treats that take us from Italy’s northern mountains to the heel of the boot! Featuring:

  • Rotari Brut, Trentodoc — This Italian bubbly made in methode champenoise from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Dolomite mountains drinks as classically as a French sparkling – ripe fruit flavours of pineapple, granny smith and yellow apple combine with white flowers and delicate bready notes with long, fine bubbles.  $16 btl, $7 btg
  • Stemmari Pinot Noir, Sicily — A surprising find from Sicily, the Pinot Noir vines are trained to grow flat along the mountain slopes to capture the sun, then cold pressed to preserve the ripe fruit flavours of strawberry cherry and blackberry with hints of spice in this light, easy drinking red. $12 btl, $6 btg
  • Koine Salice Salentino Riserva, Puglia  – Made from the Negroamaro grape grown on the boot of Italy, this silky, elegant red tastes of dark cherries and dried berries, with a touch of cigar box and minerality. $16 btl, $7 btg

Tasting: $12
