Featuring 3 fun—and affordable—reds from the region:
- Alandra Tinto, Portugal – Blueberry, raspberry and a hint of anise and spice combine in this soft, smooth blend (made from trincadeira, moreto and castell) that makes for a great summer wine.
- Monte Velho Red, Portugal – A blend of four grapes (aragonês, trincadeira, touriga and syrah), this bright red tastes of juicy red and black cherries, pepper and a hint of café au lait.
- Olivares “Altos de la Hoya”, Spain – From a region famous for its monastrell (mourvedre) this red is balanced with a splash of Grenache and aged 6 months in French oak to produce a deep, dark red tasting of rich berries and plums, spice, and a hint of earthiness and minerality.
