Cape Classics: Blanc Edition

SouthernCapeWhiteWineThis Tuesday we try three elegant white wines from the Southern Cape of Africa. Featuring:

  • Secateurs Chenin Blanc – This Chenin Blanc is consistently well ranked for a reason: fruity and full-bodied, without being overly oaked, it tastes of peach, golden plums and apples, with a hint of toasted nuts.
  • Glen Carlou Chardonnay – Another award-winning white, this wine is fermented in French oak for 10 months to create a tropical fruit-filled Chardonnay with a creamy, oaky feel balanced by clean, citrus finish.
  • Hamilton Russel Ashbourne Sandstone – South Africa’s premiere winemaker introduced this old-world style white blend almost a decade ago to great accolades: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Semillon combine to create a complex white tasting of citrus and melon with a mineral (sandstone) finish.

Tasting: $10
