Rosés of Europe

EuropeanRoseWith the gorgeous weather we’re having, this Tuesday Tasting we thought we’d kick off the start of rosé season with three different styles from three different countries. Featuring:

  • Domaine du Poujol, France – Grown in Languedoc near the Mediterranean Sea, this house specializes in rosés, with this delicate pink blend (made Carignan, Cinsault and Grenache) a perfect example: light and fruity, tasting of summer berries and melon with a clean mineral finish.
  • Le Morette, Italy—This big, rich rosé from Bardolino in northern Italy is made from three local grapes (Corvina, Rondinella and Molinar) that make the region famous for its flavorful reds, as seen in this creamy rosé tasting of peaches, cherries and strawberries.
  • Villa Wolf, Germany – Hailing from Pfalz (often called the “Tuscany of Germany”) this 100% Pinot Noir rosé is light and refreshing, with bright berry and fruit flavors and a clean, citrus-filled finish.
