La Vie in Rosé

RoseThis Tuesday Tasting we rosé the day away with 3 beautiful blush wines from 3 different French provinces. Featuring:

  • Domaine Gueneau Sancerre Rose, Loire Valley – We’ll admit, we weren’t sure what to expect from a Sancerre rosé, but this elegant blush made from 100% Pinot Noir fits the bill: fresh summer berries are balanced by the citrus and minerality that the region is famous for. $25 btl, $9 btg
  • Gerard Bertrand Cotes du Roses, Languedoc – World famous for his reds, Bertrand’s rosé is beautiful both inside and out—packaged with a cut-glass stopper and bottle in the shape of rose, it houses a fruit-filled, elegant rosé (made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah) that tastes of summer berries, melon and a hint of cream. $19 btl, $8 btg
  • Domaine de Chateaumar Rosé, Cotes du Rhone – This small vineyard’s motto “Wine is the intellectual element of the meal” holds true for this wine that might make you rethink rosés:  rich and fruit filled (made from 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre) strong flavors of ripe strawberry, raspberry and peach make this one of the biggest, boldest blushes we’ve tried. $15 btl, $6 btg

Tasting: $12
