This Tuesday Tasting, we take a tour of Southern France with 3 rich red harvests ready for the drinking. Featuring:
- Calendal Cotes du Rhone—This highly ranked red is an elegant example of the region and style: Mourvedre and Grenache combine to create black cherry and tart currant flavors with a finish of graphite and black tea.
- Gerard Bertrand Corbieres—This classic GSM (Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre) blend from renowned winemaker Gerard Bertrand is a deep, rich red tasting of black berries, vanilla, spices and a touch of roasted nuts.
- Gerard Bertrand Minervois – Another blend from Bertrand (this time, Syrah and Carignan) results in flavors of dark fruits (blackberries, prunes and black olives) with a hint of mocha and coffee on the finish.
