According to the West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD), the tragic shooting resulting in the death of a woman at the hands of her ex-boyfriend occurred while she was on a FaceTime call with three other individuals. One witness on the call reported seeing the victim being shot in the back and head, and later identified the suspect, Keisean Shaw, from a photographic lineup.
Jail records indicate that Shaw, 19, has been arrested on a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm. He was not present in court on Thursday morning due to being hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head, which officers discovered when they found him at the same location where the victim was located.
Officers responded to a 911 call about the shooting on West 13th Street near Gaines Park, off north Australian Avenue, and found both the suspect and victim shortly after 9:40 p.m. They were transported to a nearby hospital, where the victim, identified as Kelvi McCray, was pronounced dead approximately half an hour later.
