Competitors representing over 100 nations participated in the 128th Boston Marathon today. Among the nearly 30,000 individuals reaching the finish line on Boylston Street, only a handful will emerge victorious. Here are the champions:

Men’s Professional Division:

1. Sisay Lemma, hailing from Ethiopia, finished the marathon in 2:06:17.
2. Mohamed Esa, also from Ethiopia, crossed the line in 2:06:58.
3. Evans Chebet, representing Kenya, completed the course in 2:07:22. He claimed victory in the Boston Marathon previously in 2022 and 2023.

Women’s Professional Division:

1. Hellen Obiri, representing Kenya, achieved a time of 2:22:37, securing her second consecutive Boston Marathon triumph.
2. Sharon Lokedi, from Kenya, finished closely behind with a time of 2:22:45.
3. Edna Kiplagat, representing Kenya, completed the race in 2:23:21.

Who won the 2024 Boston Marathon?

Men’s wheelchair division:

  • Marcel Hug, from Switzerland, completed the race with what could be confirmed as a new course record of 1:15:33. He has now won the Boston Marathon wheelchair division seven times.
  • Daniel Romanchuk, from the United States, completed the race in 1:20:37.
  • David Weir, from the United Kingdom, completed the race in 1:22:12.

  • Eden Rainbow-Cooper, from the United Kingdom, completed the race in 1:35:11.
  • Manuela Schär, from Switzerland, completed the race in 1:36:41.
  • Madison de Rozario, from Australia, completed the race in 1:39:20.

  • John Masson, from the United States, completed in 1:09:33.
  • Dustin Baker, from the United States, completed in 1:10:10.

Women’s handcycle division:

  • Alicia Dana, from the United States, completed in 1:15:20.
  • Edie Perkins, from the United States, completed in 1:33:57.
  • Devann Murphy, from the United States, completed in 1:43:23.

Duo teams:

  • Julien Pinsonneault and May Lim, from Canada, completed with a time of 2:54:43.
  • Shaun Evans and Shamus Evans, from the United States, completed with a time of 2:55:35.
  • Jean-Phillippe Morand and Victor Morand, from Canada, completed with a time of 3:06:02.
