Haledon Detective Captures Pennsylvania Fugitive During Taxicab Stop

Haledon police reported that during a taxicab stop, a passenger who was intoxicated with PCP and not wearing a seatbelt turned out to be a fugitive from Pennsylvania.

Detective Jeffrey Welsh initiated the stop after the cab driver failed to signal a turn off West Broadway, according to Deputy Police Chief George Guzman, Jr.

Angel Collado, 42, of Passaic, seated in the back, caught the detective’s attention, Guzman explained.

A swift computer check revealed warrants from Bucks County, PA, as well as Clifton and Totowa, Guzman added.

Collado, whose criminal record dates back to his teenage years, was found to be in possession of PCP, Guzman noted.
