A guest at a Rochelle Park hotel, who overstayed his welcome, was apprehended by officers after cocaine and pills were discovered in his room, according to authorities.
Police arrived at the Ramada by Wyndham Hotel on West Passaic Street in response to a report of a guest refusing to leave by the checkout time. They found Anwar Mnawer, 33, of the Bronx, disoriented shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday, March 18, stated Capt. James M. DePreta.
“Upon entering the room, officers noticed a large folding knife, prescription pills, a bag containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, and various drug-related items in plain sight,” the captain explained.
Additionally, approximately $3,000 in proceeds from drug sales was discovered on Mnawer’s person, which was seized for forfeiture, he added.
Mnawer was charged with multiple drug and weapon-related offenses, along with money laundering.
