Libby Fay Aven was born on April 26, 1939, in Tallahatchie County, Kentucky, to her parents Vernon Estel Denley and Annie Mae Denley. Tragically, both of her parents had already passed away before Libby’s birth. She grew up surrounded by her two sisters, Juanita Shaw and Alene Denley. Libby found solace and joy in spending time with her family, cherishing moments together above all else.
Life’s Journey
Throughout her life, Libby pursued her passions, with quilting and painting ranking among her favorite hobbies. However, her greatest joy came from being with her loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Libby is survived by her two sons, Tony Aven of Cowart, Mississippi, and Bill Van Aven (Pamela) of Batesville, Mississippi, along with her two sisters, Juanita Shaw and Alene Denley. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Allison Lee (Buddy) and Carter Aven (Caroline Parker), as well as three great-grandchildren, Avery Clare Lee, Aven Kate Lee, and Addy Reece Lee.
Final Farewell
A visitation to honor Libby Fay Aven will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Womble Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Following the visitation, a memorial service will take place at Womble Funeral Home at 12:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Raymond Aven.
The burial will follow at Magnolia Gardens, where Libby will be laid to rest. The responsibility of transporting the casket will be carried out by Mr. Aven Butch and Mr. David Aven. Among those present will be Ms. Denley, Jerry Allen, Buddy A. Todd, and Robin A. Lee.
