This week we try 3 tasty new treats from 3 different regions of France. Featuring:

  • Saint Cosme Little James Basket, Gigondas – The Barruol family has farmed this land since the 1490s, and their expertise shows in this unique blend: ripe fruit and floral notes of Viognier (peach, apricot, and lychee) are balanced with the acid and herbs of Sav Blanc (grapefruit and fennel) in a crisp, refreshing white. $15 btl, $7 btg
  • Pegau “Cuvee Maclura”, Côtes du Rhône – The famed Châteauneuf-du-Pape winery brings its skills to this classic Rhone red made of Grenache, Syrah, Mouvedre, and Cinsault to create rich flavours of black currant and black cherry, with hints of spices, anise and leather. $22 btl, $9 btg
  • Chateau Bordieu Blaye Cotes du Bordeaux – This right bank Bordeaux (read Merlot driven red with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cab Franc) earned a stunning 97 points from Decanter and has been called an “unbelievable value” for it lush fruit flavours of blackberry, blueberry and plum with a soft touch of toasted oak and vanilla. $21 btl, $9 btg
