The Grande Petite Sirah

PetiteSirah1This Tuesday Tasting we try three big bodied California reds made from the tiny grape that packs a big punch: Petite Sirah. Featuring:

  • Crusher, Clarksburg—Aged in French and Hungarian oak and balanced with just a splash of pinot noir, this consistently well ranked petite sirah packs quite a mouthful for the price: mixing blueberry, dark plum with a hint of licorice and vanilla bean for a full, plush mouthful.
  • Spellbound, Napa—This 100% petite sirah has been called “a bargain at twice the price” by Robert Parker due to its rich, full-bodied flavor of blackberries, vanilla and a hint of roasted coffee with a long elegant finish.
  • Clayhouse, Paso Robles—Sustainably farmed from old-vine petite sirah (50+ years), this rich red tastes of blackberry, mulberry, spice and cocoa with a silky smooth finish.

Tasting: $10
