This Tuesday Tasting we’re excited to host European Sommelier Elena Spadoni of Fossa Mala Winery at Firehouse between 5pm and 7pm. Fossa Mala is located in the famed Friuli-Grave region of Italy–home to some of the most incredible white wines of Italy. This North East corner of Italy on the Slovenian border produces wines of character and magnificence. Featured wines include:
- Fossa Mala Friulano—An intense white native to the region tasting of almond and honeysuckle with a slightly spicy finish. $22 btl, $7 btg
- Fossa Mala Sauvignon Blanc—One of the most elegant (and interesting!) whites we’ve tasted in a while, this lightly oaked white strikes the perfect balance of herbs, citrus and minerality. $22 btl, $7btg
- Cannonau di Sardegna, Mogoro—This deep ruby red made from Cannonau (Italian Grenache) tastes of black cherry and berries, with a touch of mint and herbs and light, dusty finish. $27 btl, $8 btg
- Fossa Mala Brut Spumante—An Italian sparkling made of traditional champagne fruit (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir/Pinot Nero), this elegant, dry bubbly tastes of ripe apple and toasted bread with a touch of floral notes. $30 btl
